Corporate Social Responsibility

We have set our CSR commitments towards Clients, People and Investors.

Hedra plc is committed to ensuring that our business is conducted in all aspects according to rigorous ethical and professional standards. We will integrate social and environmental concerns in our business operations and in our interactions with stakeholders, on a voluntary basis. Our objective is to achieve commercial success in ways that honour ethical values and respect people, communities and the natural environment.

By accepting and embracing corporate and social responsibility and arguing a good business case for it, we seek to establish Hedra at the forefront of the ‘corporate citizenship’ agenda.

At Hedra we strive for the highest ethical standards in all of our activities and we insist on this from all our people. This includes complying not only with laws and standards set within our marketplace, but also personal and corporate standards reflected in our values of Respect, Integrity, Openness and Accountability.

Hedra is committed to being an employer of excellence. By regularly reviewing and updating all our policies in line with developing working practices and legislative requirements and listening and responding to the needs of our staff, we ensure that we remain at the forefront of business and provide a professional and supportive place to work.

Hedra is delighted to be supporting Cancer Research UK as its Annual Charity for 2007.  Hedra‘s relationship with Cancer Research UK is one of the ways staff can play an active role in supporting community initiatives.  This year we have already raised over £13,000 by running a series of events including a 'promise auction' at our Staff Christmas Conference, a Hedra Charity Quiz Night and a Wine Tasting evening, in addition to participation by Hedra staff in the London Marathon, the Great South Run and Race for Life.  One of the important things about Hedra‘s partnership with Cancer Research UK is the two-way benefits of the relationship, for example, the provision of health-care information to staff and access to screening services etc.  This supports Hedra‘s commitment to the wellbeing of our people.

Cancer Research UK is the world‘s leading organisation dedicated to cancer research.  They support research into all aspects of cancer, through the work of over 3,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Cancer Research UK is almost entirely funded by donations from the public.

Hedra is proud to be committed to equal opportunities. We fully appreciate our obligations to meet all the legal requirements placed upon us. Beyond that we strive to create a working environment that reflects the diversity of the community within which we live and work.

Respect is one of the essential Hedra core values, and this is at the heart of our commitment to equality. Hedra celebrates individual diversity and is dedicated to ensuring a tolerant and supportive workplace regardless of gender, sexual orientation, heritage, faith, disability or age.

Integrity underpins all the interactions in our business, with colleagues, clients, partners, suppliers and the wider community. This means that we seek to treat everyone with fairness at all times. All recruitment, performance management and career progression decisions are based on competence alone, and the company is proud of a culture which does not tolerate discrimination, harassment or victimisation.
