Defence & Aerospace

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) and its suppliers in the defence and aerospace sector are undergoing unprecedented change.  The Defence Logistics Transformation Programme, the Defence Industrial Strategy and now ‘Enabling Acquisition Change’, led by Tom McKane, all mean that the MOD and the Defence industry are faced with change and challenge on a wide front.

At Hedra, we have worked with the MOD, its agencies and industry to deliver best practice in this new and changing environment.  The MOD now requires ‘through-life capability management’ and customer focus. Meanwhile, industry needs to realise optimal profitability and return on investment in supporting this requirement.  We are skilled at delivering against these imperatives and have built an extensive track record on the industry side as well as with Government.

We have a team of 90 defence specialists, including our Systems Engineering Services group, providing a powerful blend of consultancy and practical delivery services.

Hedra's defence team has a proven track record working both within the MOD and with major defence contractors such as General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin and BAE Systems.

Working with Land Guided Weapons IPT, Hedra has contributed to delivering an Equipment Support Solution that achieves savings greater than £100m whilst improving operational availability and reducing the logistical footprint. Hedra has been Lockheed Martinís logistics support partner for Merlin since 1992, a relationship that is cemented with the innovative IMOS programme.

Hedra can be contracted quickly and easily by MOD teams by using the FATS or Cipher frameworks.
