Service improvement programmes
NHS organisations increasingly have to demonstrate they are ‘fit for purpose’ and deliver best value in terms of health outcomes and use of public funds.
Recent policy changes mean the NHS can look to the private sector to deliver healthcare that is free at the point of delivery. Hedra is working to help our clients to meet the challenges presented by a contestable healthcare market through a three-phase service improvement programme.
- Our clients are asking for support in answering their key questions, such as:
- do we have the capability to thrive in a competitive market environment?
- who presents the largest competitive threat to our organisation?
- what does ‘good look like’ and how do we measure ourselves against this?
- how do we ensure best value is derived from our services?
Hedra helps its clients develop a clear future strategic direction. We use custom diagnostic tools to systematically appraise their services and design plans to help ensure success in a market environment.
PCT commissioner/provider separation
Hedra is working with primary care trusts to implement the operational changes required to realise the vision of a contestable healthcare marketplace.
We are supporting PCTs to deliver operational independence as commissioners and providers of healthcare services. We partner with our clients to create organisations that are financially viable and have the right portfolio of services and support functions.
IT-enabled change
Hedra is the business change partner within the CSC Alliance, the local service provider for three clusters in the NHS’s National Programme for IT.
Hedra is helping the NHS achieve the programme’s vision by:
- ensuring that solutions are designed to deliver benefits in line with NHS objectives
- engaging NHS stakeholders to gain and sustain their support for the programme
- supporting the NHS to use new technology as a catalyst for change and delivery of benefits at local levels
